This course deals with the study of human behavior of the individual and work groups and its effect on the organization. It is essential to understand the organization from a point of view of individual perceptions, motivation and relationships between people in order to develop advanced managerial skills.
Cases and issues are presented to understand and analyze real-world situations, such a dealing with motivation, leadership & politics, management of conflict, stress and change. Self-Assessment Exercises will be provided to understand their strength and weaknesses and to develop their interpersonal skills and inspire them in managing people in organizations.
The study of organizational behavior gives insight on how employees behave and perform in the workplace. It helps us develop an understanding of the aspects that can motivate employees, increase their performance, and help organizations establish a strong and trusting relationship with their employees.
The first and foremost importance of organizational behavior lies in understanding human behavior. If the management can interpret properly the human needs within an organization, it can work towards fulfilling those needs and also chalk out new plans and incentives to satisfy the employees and boost them.

This module is intended for the students to achieve the following outcomes:
- Understand and be able to explain the concepts of individual and group behavior in different types and forms of organizations.
- Identify the OB factors influencing individuals, teams and structures in the in flat and hierarchical types of organizations.
- Explain the importance of knowing the effects of organizational behavior in the performance of employees and its effect in maintaining professional and personal relationships with superiors, colleagues and subordinates.
